Immediate prosthesis
Immediate prosthesis
Impacted tooth
Tooth that has not erupted
Implant
The implant is a supporting pillar anchored in the jawbone. This support pillar is screwed into the bone instead of a lost tooth and then grows firmly. It serves as a support for bridges or single crowns.
Indication
Indication
Individual prophylaxis
Professional teeth cleaning. Since not all plaque can be removed one hundred percent with a toothbrush, dental floss or dental woods, professionals have a number of instruments whose handling requires special training, i.e. they cannot be used in everyday dental care at home.
Infiltration anesthesia
The area to be anesthetized is infiltrated fan-shaped by one or more punctures.
Initial caries
Caries in the early stages (chalk spots), which manifests itself in the form of a chalky enamel surface. By fluoride application, the further development of caries can be prevented and remineralization achieved.
Injection
Placing the syringe, not only at the dentist
Inlay (inlay filling)
Filling of the cavity with gold or ceramic, generally made by the dental technician
Interdental
Interdental space
Interdental brush
Interdental brush: small, fine brush for the hard-to-reach interdental spaces
Interim prosthesis
Denture that is inserted to prevent the teeth from wandering in the gap until the final one is ready.
Intercuspidation
Joining of the upper and lower jaw teeth in maximum multi-point contact
Intracoronal
In the crown
Intraoral
In the mouth
Intraoral camera
Electronic camera for video recording in the mouth
Invasive technique
Graft (own bone) from jaw angle, chin and hip region is first brought as an implant bed to the place of the dental implants to be inserted later and must heal for 3-6 months. After that, the implant is placed.
In vitro
Outside the body
In vivo
On the living object
Incisal
Along the edge of the incisor
